About French Hotel Barge Savoir Vivre
The French hotel barge Savoir Vivre was purposely designed for barge charter cruises. Savoir Vivre has a crew of three, and accommodates up to 8 guests in 4 identical cabins, each with ensuite bathroom facilities. Their program is designed to be affordable and to appeal to travelers more interested in experiences than amenities.
For the 2026 season, Savoir Vivre is based in Northern Burgundy on the Canal de Bourgogne between Tanlay and Venarey-les-Laumes due to canal work being carried out in the southern portion of the canal.
Savoir Vivre does not have an onboard chef. Breakfasts are of the continental variety with fresh bread & pastries from the local bakery, along with coffee, tea, and juice. Freshly prepared lunches are provided by a private chef who meets the barge along the way. Each evening, experience dinner at local authentic French restaurants along our route.
